Everyone should have the right to an attorney that will be truly involved in their case, that will truly fight for their client, rather than that client being just another file folder in a drawer. I don't think it's an issue of special privileges.
I believe we need to take a more comprehensive look at why the poor and minorities are targets of the death penalty. However, that is not going to be easy...there are a lot of issues involved (social, economic, behavioral, etc.).
