And a clicker. Call and click. Draw the dog back gently, praising all the way. Award treat. It's time intensive training, but worked on my friend's out-of-control Labrador. He ended up trained to come when called, but last time we were in contact he still had to be watched around other dogs or wildlife as he simply got too distracted to care. Labs are greedy though, so training may have been easier. But I bet if you try you'll find a treat she can't resist. Could be sausage, a scrap of bacon, I know a dog whose weakness was anchovy paste (!) Final word - she's definitely not deaf? I don't mean that as an insult, it's a genuine question. My ex housemate thought my boys were deaf because they didn't come when he called them. Sorry mate, just picky ![]() |
