When I was a sprog, we only worried about what the future us would think of us when we had our photos taken -must look good- and that was stressful enough.

Occasionally, we buried time capsules, but usually not very personal ones.

Now... so much more. This and every other one of my posts will probably be avaialable to future me and my descendants. Do I need to write me a letter? No. I'm pretty open about me and my hopes for the future (such as they are) here and elsewhere. I don't need to receive an email in the future reminding me of all the things i failed to achieve.

Should I have my kids write themselves a letter? It sounds like a great idea, but I think only as a never-to-actually-be-recieved thing. Or a 50 year project. Kids (well mine anyway) have unrealistically high expectations of themselves, the really don't need reminding that they didn't/won't realize all of their dreams as a vulnerable young adult.
