28 days later is a remake (in spirit) of The Omega Man, imho.
Not that that's a bad thing but it might help give you an idea about it. I liked it because I thought it was a good story but I didn't find it scary in the least - especially since its billed as the most terrifying movie since whenever. I did think the cinematography (some kind of speeded up stop-action technique) was excellent. That type of filming is what made the Saving Private Ryan battle scenes look so real. In 28 days, they used it primarily to film the zombies and it is very effective. And their eyes! Best zombie eyes ever. Not enough gore for a zombie movie for my taste but a lot of suspense. It even had a few sad moments. I recommend it - overall, thumbs up. ![]()
