Good news / Bad news post:
The cat is still sniffling, but is breathing better and is much happier. The dog goes into the vet this morning because he seems to have a back problem. He wakes up yelping in pain [very unnerving!] or stops to scream when walking. Being a phlegmatic and forgiving old boy, he'll just drop back off to sleep or continue moving in a few seconds.
