Motorola Q9 to Macbook Pro

Heya,

I wanted to post this here since I figured it out with the assistance of this page: (http://mobilitytoday.com/news/007194...ac_connection).

The new Motorola Q9 can tether over Bluetooth to a Mac. What I did was download the modem scripts in the above link and set up an Internet connection using the Bluetooth setup in System Preferences using the Blackberry CID3 modem script that the scripts in the above link directly reference, and the following info:

APN/Phone Number: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I then was able to connect via Bluetooth to the Q9 and have HSDPA Internet over the connection using Internet Connect. Sweet. And it doesn't require AT&T Communication Manager.

My customer who required this has a 2.33Ghz MacBook Pro with 2GB RAM and Parallels. We're syncing the Q9 to Outlook 2003 in the virtual machine using ActiveSync 4.5. He does a lot of traveling to NYC, so using AT&T's HSDPA network is a credible alternative. At least they don't cripple the phones like Verizon does.
