Actually, not. Some threads are Anti-AA, but there are many threads you may have missed that are pro-AA where people have been supportive of each other in their battle with alcohol. At the risk of sounding idiotic, I confess to having a foot in each camp. I went thru times of being jailed (twice) because of my drinking. I went thru an AA period. Now I am at the point where I can drink without screwing up. But, alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful. So, I have to watch myself.

Kagen, you are a very smart guy. That doesn't protect you from the evil side of alcohol. At age 48, I was the only PhD millionaire in Elmwood Prison back in 2004; Martha Stewart was in jail in NY the same year, but she doesn't have a PhD, Ha!

I'm just saying that it doesn't matter whether you are a high-school dropout or a PhD with 20 years full-time work experience and great successes. Alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful; for everyone; even if one handles it well when one is young, it can bite one in the ass later in life.

Here is a pix of me going to Jail.......
