Cost of living

I know most of Dellars are too young to be interested in this, but here it be.
From this web site http://www.ssa.gov/pressoffice/pr/2006cola-pr.htm We'll get a 4.1 increase based on this.
Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits increase automatically each year based on the rise in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W), from the third quarter of the prior year to the corresponding period of the current year. This year's increase in the CPI-W was 4.1 percent.

I don't know about Urban wage earners? But looking at http://www.ajb.org/ and doing a job search for pipe fitters, It seems to me that wages have been flat or gone down since I got out of job market about 13 years ago.

Anyway out of the increase I get 44.69. Medicare went up $10.30.
