Breast cancer help
Who doesn’t love boobs? I know I do
![]() We all know women, some of you are women, some of you even like women, and more specifically – women’s breasts. Unfortunately, most of us know someone that has had cancer and a lot of us know women (and men!) that have had breast cancer. In March 2003, my step-mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, they caught it very early and took care of it with a lumpectomy and a small run of radiation. She has been cancer free for over a year. She is very optimistic that it will not return, but there are no guarantees. My family has changed since this happened and my step-mom will never be the same. This sparked something in me. Even though she’s not a blood relative, it still greatly affects me. She’s a big part of my family and I have a 13 year old half sister that now lives in fear that she will one day go through the same thing. I’m not a doctor or scientist, but I needed to find something I could do to help fight this horrible disease. Last October I participated in my first Breast Cancer 3-Day and I’m getting ready to do it again! October 14-16, 2005 I am going to be walking 60-miles around beautiful San Diego, California, over the course of 3-days, for a cause devoted to helping women discover breast cancer early enough to beat it and committed to finally finding a cure. I’m not asking you to wear a ![]() ![]() I’m walk for my mom, my mother-in-law, my sisters, my grandmothers, my aunts, my cousins, my friends. And I walk for me. But I especially walk for my step-mom, Barbara – SHE IS A SURVIVOR. Every blister and muscle ache over the 3-days will remind me and encourage me to conquer this huge goal of 60-miles. According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me -- by supporting me in my fundraising efforts &/or joining me in the walk! So, yes, fellow Cellies, this is a plea for your emotional and financial support. If it is at all possible for you to ![]() When you’re ready, just follow this link to donate online. Donations will be accepted until September, so don’t feel obligated to do it today, just don’t forget! If it is easier for you to send in a check by mail, email me and I’ll send you a donation form to print out. We had an amazing time on the walk last year. I can only hope that this year will be as inspirational and just as much fun! ![]() Cindy Osterlind Walker #44334072 Long Beach Boobies!
