Wolf's on the right track
Wolf, whether it's Bin Laden taxidermed ass, or some sort of eggagerated or created terror inccident, Bush has the ability to shut down the normal processes of free thinking people with the fear switch. This mixed with the proliferation of information, the spin, and PR campaigns will effectively destroy a candidate who's befuddled answer to the Bushwhacker is to hire Joe Lockhart.
I don't feel sorry for John Kerry one bit, I do feel sorry for the American people though. This is not even saying that four more years of Bush isn't what this country deserves anyway, but the fact that this election hasn't really spoken to any of the major issues affecting the US, besides an amporphous and ambigous reference to terrorism and 9/11, which obviously is an major issue, is more than a bit distressing. But in saying that terrorism been used as a "boogie man" issue by the Bush campaign, who's best response is: "well, nothing's happened here in the last 3 years, now has it" Regardless of the fact that the 9/11 attacks took years of planning to execute, I mean who really knows how effective the tactics of the Bush admin. have been, frankly the fact that there has been no attack means very little to me. I find it funny that the Bushies stand on a record of no attack and yet keep fear in the hearts of all Americans that one could happen at any moment. Sounds to me like the statements of an administration that has just about as good idea as anybody on how to handle this threat, but one thing that people look to in George Bush, is the shoot first and ask questions later mentality to decisions. To be honest, I must say I respect that. I personally believe you elect a leader that will hold ground and stand on principles, over analyzing and overt over thinking is for Congress. I think the idea of John Kerry calling a committee or constantly seeking international support terrifies many Americans, including this author. There is some creedence to claims in the press of John Kerry's condecending tone in his campaign, some of which plays right into the Bush, "I know what I want to do" attitude, as well as alienates most of middle America especially.
