Made a quick dash to Homebase for a 120L bale of multi-purpose compost (Dad for the use of) and then into the nearby M&S for some Brussels sprouts and emergency supplies of clotted cream fudge.
Not surprisingly the compost went into the space behind the back seats (it's an estate car) but the comestibles were allocated the front passenger seat. The fudge was therefore consumed in short order on the way home. The same cannot be said for the Brussels sprouts.
