4/8/2002: Actual crucifixion

A few days ago we had the images of people doing various things to themselves or their kids for religious ceremony. Here's the kicker of them all: actual crucifixion. I mentioned that I'd read about them, well here is an actual shot of Amparo Santos, the only woman in 21 people crucified on Good Friday in the Philippines. She knew what pain to expect because this is her 15th year of doing it.

Supposedly they use sterilized nails, but... y'know, I can't really figure out why. If you're gonna do it, do it. Don't just stay up for a few minutes, as these folks did, but at least make it an overnight thing.
