Hiring for Sucess

I guess this would work for a medium/large company, but a small outfit doesn't have the time/money to teach skills unless it's a simple job.

Yabbut motivating people seems to be the hardest thing to do in all workdom.

At least in IT, very few managers are capable of doing it correctly. You're pretty much expected to self-motivate or GTFO.

Maybe because our world now revolves around money. They great god money is everything, people with a million dollars want ten million. Instead of enjoying family and friends they work harder for more money. I think that led to the attitude that money is enough motivation.

True we go to work everyday for the money, but it never made me feel like jumping out of bed in the morning and rushing off to work with a song in my heart.

Anger at my supposed loved ones and friends kept me getting up every morning to go fight trees all day.

And the money.
