Violent storm off Sardinia

The only time I have ever seen lightning illuminate the interior of a cloud, as above, was in Scottsbluff, NE.
The storm lasted approximately an hour from about 9pm and was probably one of the most violent but spectacular meteorological sights I have ever seen.
If you've experienced damage under those circumstances, quite understandably, you wil no doubt have a very different view on the matter.

I'm fond of Wyoming and I've experienced one or two of the apparently resident thunderstorms, so I thought I'd add this.

Lightning strikes north of Gillette, Wyoming.
