				December 6, 2007: Robot patient
The Japanese have come up with this one, a dental patient who is... a robot. With the use of this automatron, dental students can see what it's like to drill teeth on a real-life patient before they ever drill on a real-life patient. The robot is programmed to react accurately when the drill touches a nerve. |

They should make a fat, ugly robot with bad teeth and bad breath. That would give the dental students a feel for what they're getting into.

Then I panicked and posted something quickly, just so I'd be the first one to reply.

I saw this story on a Japanese site a month or so ago, but without the picture, so I decided not to post it here. IIRC the funniest bit is that "her" breasts are equipped with sensors and she reacts (negatively) to inappropriate touching. Who says engineers don't have a sense of humor?
