If you were at the alter and he said, Sorry I'm late for the wedding but I'm a criminal and had to dodge the feds. Wouldn't you have some trepidation about starting a family, with the sword of Damocles hanging over your head?

Hopefully, the new immigration bill will pass, so a lot of this anxiety will be alleviated. Then they'll just have to worry about coming up with $5000 to pay the fine.
They also have to go home, learn English and wait in line to come back. Maybe the Churches that were so anxious to shield them will pay the $5k?

The shit isn't a citizen. A citizen is a person.

That's real nice, comparing children to shit.

One of my best friends in school was the daughter of an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. She made the honor roll every year, and became a teacher after graduating from college. She's not "shit."

I don't understand the point of your scenario. U.S. citizens marry undocumented immigrants very often, for whatever personal reasons.

Only the heads of households would have to do that. I wouldn't be surprised if the Churches helped people out with the fines.

She wasn't your responsibility, she was her mother's and her own. She wasn't anyone's "problem."

If you consider say, U.S. citizen kids' public education to be a "problem," that's too bad; you can't do anything about it unless you decide not to pay your taxes.

Then she's a moot point, because her mother took care of her.
That's what I want, the parents to be responsible for their children and not dump them on society.

So, just so you could be mad about something, you made up this national crisis in your head, where vast numbers of undocumented immigrants are dumping their kids on society?

I'm sure there are instances of older kids in their teens remaining here on their own, just as there are teens whose parents are citizens who live on their own. But I think most of the kids who stay here are either left with relatives, or put into foster care.

There are definitely not hordes of deported immigrants' children roaming the streets here.

Now stop that.
I got from the article that started this, "particularly in the separation of children from their parents". My answer to that is take 'em with you until they are 18, or provide a trust fund to care for them so they are not dumped on the streets or anywhere else.

You and that other apologist for the criminals, were all up in arms about deporting the spawn, but had no solution what to do with the little buggers, except don't deport the criminals. That's not an acceptable solution.

If the new bill is passed, that will be the official solution, acceptable to you or not. The punishment will be a fine, not deportation (if they are otherwise law-abiding).

You'll never convince me that is a desirable situation.

Who's paying for the foster care? Do you really believe the spawn are better off in foster care than with their families? That's just crazy talk.

Nor did I say there were, yet. I'm saying nip it in the bud. An ounce of prevention and all that.

Oh, and guest workers have to be spayed or neutered.

You better read past the headline, in addition to the $5k, they also have to go home, learn English and wait in line to come back according to the news this evening.

I don't think it's crazy. In many cases, kids living with foster families are better off than with their biological families, as evidenced by the foster care system in place for other 'citizens'.

...after eight years, and only heads of households. And Chertoff stated that those who go through this process would not have to wait long to return.
