Glatt-
Since I have been avoiding the obvious for everyone else, eg, no Coconut pie for Pie, (though I did work coconut in) no coq au vin or cock aleekie for LJ, no Frog's legs for UT, no Peking Duck for Duck's nuts, etc etc. I will avoid any kosher type foods for Glatt, likewise I'll avoid the obviously trafe/treyf dishes. Your signature dish is Eggplant Parmigiana, raddichio endive salad, and a chilled Gabbiano chianti. Rkzenrage Two cornish game hens stuffed with cornbread and chorizo sausage, slow cooked with a honey mustard basting sauce. Kaliber on the side. case Your choice of LJ's uneaten Kipper sandwich, (I swear he never touched it) or Wiener Schnitzel with potatoes and carrots cooked in butter and seasoned with chopped fresh parsley. Flint Swedish meatballs served over egg noodles. Side dish of garlic mashed potatoes. sundae girl Branston pickle, onions, Somerset Farmhouse Cheddar cheese, sourdough bread, a boiled egg, and 6 pints of Guiness. busterb PORTUGUESE SOUP - FAIAL STYLE 1 can red kidney beans 2 1/2 qt. water 1 lb. chopped kale 6 med. size potatoes, cubed 2 fresh tomatoes, cut into quarters 1 med. onion, whole 1/2 lb. linguica, cut into 1/2 inch rings 2 heaping tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. salt of taste 1 tsp. crushed pepper 1 tbsp. chopped fennel (tuncho) Strain beans through food mill and add to water. Place in a 4 to 6 quart pan and bring to a boil. Chop kale into small pieces and add to water. Add cubed potatoes, onion, butter, tomato and linguica, and allow to boil for about 25 minutes, before you shut off fire. Add fennel. Makes 8 to 10 servings. BigV bulgogi a Korean spicey shaved beef dish. Baby bok choy on the side. grant Buttered popcorn and milk duds<-- you know what I'm talking about. incommunicadocat Okonomiyaki labrat Bruschetta on rosemary olive bread. OK The kitchen will be closing at 9:00pm EST.

Now I'm off to look up Branston Pickle to see whether I eat it out of a jar like deli dills on the tables at Danny's in Ventura CA, or if I need a specialized instrument of comestation. [later] Nope, just a spoon to get it out of its jar.

... Hey, not bad. The tomato sauce and cheese mask any eggplant flavor. Not the best dish I ever had, but not bad. The raddichio endive salad was great. And the chianti takes me back to Italy... Thanks. |

I'll have the pickle, onions and bread. I'll have to leave most of the cheese for someone who isn't on a diet though. And the Guinness, sadly ![]()

Thankee very much. I'll take SGs cheese, but leave the Guinness. I prefer wine with my meal.
Yum!

Glatt, then you'll like what's been happening to eggplant (aubergine across the pond) in the past three decades of hybridization effort: that strip the roof of your mouth puckeriness that eggplant used to finish up with has been bred out of the eggplant crop. I'll look up a Turkish recipe known as "Fainting Imam" for a kinda different sort of take on how to eat eggplant -- look for it over the next couple-few days on the Most Recent Recipe Thread.
It's there now. Trayf is Yiddish for "forbidden." You know, pork chops, Canadian bacon pizza, the cheeseburger...

Count me in. What's my signature dish?
BTW, I'm not strictly kosher but I do avoid pork.

With your multi mammal poll I'm tempted to give you horse, but that would be too simple. You signature dish is mammal paella. A tiny tad of each of the mammals listed made into a traditional paella.
