Aren't they just? In fact, I believe I'm going to go home and put on their CDs tonight (no pizza delivery! yay!)

I read a bit more about Jeremy and it seems he assumes the roll of collaborative director for his work. He won for a video thing done while working in San Antonio called Memory Bucket. (The San Antonio space gets local and fed funding so TS can be outraged afterall!) As I read it, Memory Bucket, kinda like Hitchens documentary on Texasization but with poetry, looks at politics and history and religion. Specifically focusing on the Branch Dividians as Bush supporters, or something. See, I need a diagram.

Jonathon Jones of the Guardian is a Deller fan:
Quote:
The other artists here present product. Deller invites you into a conversation. He is, however, a real artist, a genuine and subtle exponent of Robert Rauschenberg's desire to act in the space between art and life. Deller is the only artist in this show, and one of the few of his generation, anywhere, who has a real vision. His work enriches lives - it has certainly enriched mine. I can't say that of anything else in this year's Turner prize.

Oooh. One more tid bit then I'll leave youse alone. Artpace in San Antonio- I was just assuming they were hooked into fed funds as we all are, but sounds like they manage the bulk of their kick-ass residency program through their private foundation funding (via the contemporary art loving Pace picante sauce heiress).

Here you go...you'll have to register and use IE, but it's worth it.

I'm sure Gordon's gin has helped many artists along the way.
