finally, someone said it. it's not funny. it's not amazing. it's not special. it's just a picture of a guy being immature. wow. aren't these images supposed to make you think, or make you stare in awe, or give you chills? something? the tag for the forum DOES say "blow your mind". |

Hubris boy, stop being so mean, you're scaring them off. Although such brilliant creative minds as asdfasdf aren't the biggest loss i guess....then again, keep up the good work.

Tony's threads are the good images. Everyone else just tries to be as cool. Personally I found the picture funny. I laughed. |

jeni> finally, someone said it I agree. I come here to see stuff that is interesting, stuff that is cool. Stuff that makes me think. I don't come here to see porn. Or similar juvenility. asdfasdf, I have no problem, in principle, with seeing images from you. But if you wish to post any more, please grow up. Thank you. |

So far this image has had over 370 page views. As we post negative opinions about it, it goes to the top of the IotD forum and remains a repetitively viewed thread, as people return to read posts and see what all the discussion is about. Much of the discussion in this thread concerns whether this image is even appropriate for Image of the Day. Sad thing is, the more inappropriate an image is and the more posts debating it's purpose in the Cellar, the more page views the thread gets by our Guests and the longer it remains a topic for discussion. We've had discussion about a rating system that would allow members to weigh-in and rate a thread off the Cellar ... but until that is implemented the majority of the members and guests are at the mercy of individual members who can post whatever, and the administrator who has the only power to remove any inappropriate content. It's not only that our community risks losing some good members, quitting in disgust, we risk attracting those who think crap like this is worth their time and attention. Yah, but Tony's real good about slappin' shit down. We had a goatse thread a while back. I think maybe myself and one or two other people saw it before it got yoinked. As we grow, it might be necessary to implement a rating system. As it is, I don't think it's necessary, but I can see how it would be useful. |
