Ahhh....how I wish that were me since she's beating you.
![]() Sure, if you don't mind sometimes waiting a day or two before I could reply. I sometimes get busy and can't answer everyday or right after you've played your turn. If you think how I play won't upset you, add me. I'm pming you my username. Flint, i'm gonna pm you my username too in case you want more opponents. my usewr is the same for both scramble and words with friends. the reason why I don't put my user name here is because it's a personal name. don't want anyoen irl looking for me to find me. ![]() |

Sorry, LB and all, I'm resigning all my matches as soon as my turn comes up. Too much going on in my life right now to have another time-sucking distraction to contend with.
To be honest, I also have some problems with the game, coming from the expectation that it would be like Scrabble--it isn't, at all, when there is no "challenge" aspect, and you can either Google words or just flop down tiles until something sticks.

It's no biggie, Flint. Games are for fun or something to relax with. If it ain't making you happy, then don't play.

This is funny, because playing the game has actually been reminding me why I never liked the real Scrabble--too much reward for point strategizing, not enough credit for badass words. IMHO there should never be a situation where a word like "hand" gets more points than "ennui."

btw, Clodfobble, I've been wanting to play 'ennui' but never had the opportunity where it would have scored well. It's a cool word, but how do you measure coolness? In my mind, the classic measure of Scrabble coolness is where your spatial reasoning can find that spot where your vocabulary fills in that cool word, and 'ennui' hits TW on the e, DL on the u--and your opponent didn't think you could get into that corner. That would be cool. Memorizing the 101 two-letter word combinations allowed in the Scrabble dictionary...is not cool. Because that isn't a transferable skill, such as, you know, having an actual vocabulary of real words that you know how to use in a sentence.

This is why Boggle (and modern derivatives like Bookworm Adventures) is still the best word game ever invented.

What's Bookworm Adventures? I bought the pay version of regular Bookworm a few years back, to unlock the higher levels. I was looking for a free Bookworm app when I found Word Jewels 2--it involves the same skill. But what is the 'adventure' part?

This morning a friend introduced me to a game called Letterpress. It's like a love baby between Boggle and that game where you draw lines to make boxes and once you close the box it's yours.
(Connect through GameCenter -- I'm Chocolatl there too if anyone is up for a game.) |
