Another Dream Thread
Last night I stayed up until midnight playing a video game, and then went directly to bed. My alarm clock was set to a morning talk radio show. The people’s voices did not wake me up--I didn’t even hit snooze, they just kept talking. I was partially aware that something was happening, but it was incorporated into a dream. My passing awareness of the speaking voices was represented, visually, as shifting planes of incompletely-animated objects (like objects in a video game, experiencing a glitch), with large gaps which my unconsciousness could easily pass through, thus continuing to exist, i.e. this is how/why I remained unconscious. See below, the jutting planes of an object that intends to be vaguely cube-like, as they thrust themselves towards my waking mind. However, they are loosely organized and my unconsciousness can easily sail through, hardly deterred by their presence.

I once dreamed that I became wealthy by inventing a candy snack. I don't know if I ever posted about it here, or not, but it was several years ago and I still say it sounds really yummy.
You know those crunchy rice puffy noodle things you sometimes get with sesame chicken? well, take a whole bunch of those and glue them together into squares with a thick, fruity flavored syrup so they are kind of like rice crispy treats. yum. $$$ yum $$$ |

I dig what you are saying. Makes sense from a dream world point of view.

I dramed the other night that I had am amazing next step for Clive Barker's fantasy view in the Abarat, which I was reading before I went to sleep. When I woke up I realised it was exactly the same concept already developed in the books.
For some reason, I don't think Flint really started this thread for us to discuss our dreams. Still, never mind. |

I think Cherry misunderstood - I don't think she was trying to be mean. If my interpretation is correct, she started talking about her dream, thought this was to discuss the meaning of your dream, then backed off and sorta kinda apologized? But then, I could be a total idiot. I dreamed I was a shark. Or was it a dolphin............

I revise my statement, to state that she is free to share her dreams in which things are getting crammed up her ass.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. For perspective, the last two games I completed were Zelda, Ocarina of Time (N64) and some Dungeons & Dragons game on Turbo Grafix 16. So it's been a while since I've played video games. Oblivion is SO cool.

Oh very cool. I played one of the earlier Elder Scrolls games years ago (can't remember what it was now). Didnt complete it, but enjoyed it whilst I played.
I am a week into a free trial of WoW....I have avoided it like the plague (ex-UOer, didn't appreciate the direction it was taking MMOs)...but it's kind of addictive. Did you ever play Dungeon Siege? Or NWN? I loved NWN. Much good fun.

I played a free demo of Dungeon Seige recently, after I built my PC but before my Oblivion GOTY Edition arrived.
I prefer the one-player activity to the massive multi WoW thing which I could see turning into an animated Facebook.

But sheesh, SG was just saying she was going to add her dream whether it was the intention of your thread or not. And you've always been a proponent of thread drift, as am I. And you're afraid of me? HA! ![]()

A couple nights ago I dreamed that I had just spent the night camping out with my kids. We were all sleeping in this large king size bed, and as I woke up (in the dream) I was cuddling with my son. I looked at the side of his head, and there, nestled in his hair were a couple white cockroach looking insects. They looked sort of puffy and soft. I knew in an instant that they were lice. I realized in horror that since we had just been sleeping in the same spot, that they were in my hair and my daughter's hair too. So I walked into another part of the house to where my wife was curled up on the couch reading. I was about to tell her that the three of us had lice when I saw a whole bunch of them just nestled in the wrinkles of the upholstery next to her head.
I woke up for real shortly after that. |
