My first car was a hand-painted (really!) Fiat. It belonged to this gal who decided to make economical use of a gallon of industrial-grade Rustoleum she found in her basement. She didn't happen to have a brush.

It was one of the most putrid shades of green you can imagine -- the color of the hallways in nursing homes, back when they were warehouses of death.

But, damn, that car never rusted.
