Bush's claim on taxes for small businesses

I was mortfied to read today that Bush was pounding Kerry on the roll back of taxes for the highest income earners, saying that it would hurt small businesses. Is this redneck serious! Does this man honestly think that corporate subsidies and global outsourcing trade policies is helping small businesses, I wish somebody could set the dialogue straight on this one. For Bush to call Kerry on his effect on small businesses is simply ridiculous.

Everywhere in this country you see small shops close, small business workers loose health insurance, and more Wal-marts open. It's high time to once and for all deal with both of the parties on the issue of global trade and it's influence over our local markets, which makes any dialouge on how much the owner's of these businesses moot, for the simple fact that all small businesses are imperiled by current trade and business policy set by the US government. There needs to be a serious move towards the break-up of these huge conglemerates and global giants, at least if there incoporated here. Where's TR when you need him, but as it is known, no TR without the murder of McKinley, so what to do, how can we stop the stifling of America?......suggestions all you cellar dwellars.

See the post-debate analysis of Bush's stupid "Need some wood?" quote. In fact, check out Cheney's recommendation, factcheck.org, for the reason they're giving for that claim.

But it counts every high-salaried person who has even $1 of outside business income as a "small business owner" -- a definition so broad that even Bush and Cheney have qualified while in office.

Does anyone really believe Kerry when he says his tax increases would be limited to those earning over $200,000, though? If he gets the Bush tax cuts repealed -- including, e.g., the 10% bracket -- that affects a lot of people earning less.

As an aside I remember Jim McGreavy talking big about his "millionaires tax"... which started at $500,000.

He only wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts on the people earning over $200000. He plans to leave the rest in place.

I'm not sure he'll be able to do it, though. It's not an easy promise to keep, as Bush's father found out.

Especially when he won't be able to convince a Republican congress to agree to the budget. How many times did Clinton and the Republican congress shut down the government over budget issues?

You say that like it's a bad thing.
PA Sen Specter is running an ad claiming his opponent spent 15 years in congress and passed only one bill to rename a Post Office.
Great!! That's the man I want! Every time congress does something, I'm damn lucky if it only cost me money.

The lackwit Specter is running against is my House rep. He was a lackwit as county comissioner many years back, and things haven't changed.

It is getting ugly out there. When was the last time you heard a female candidate associated with the kidnapping and rape of little girls?
Attacking a candidates voting history is one thing, but this is as low as I have ever seen.
