musical terms... help!
I was wondering if anyone out there has heard a concise explanation of the genre term "lo-fi" and whether it is worth listening to any.

The only band I can think of that describes themselves as "lo-fi" (low fidelity) is Le Tigre. I believe they use just their instruments, a sampling machine, and do only analog recording. They don't use computers or any sort of digital recording, like most any band out there these days. I think that's the reason they call themselves "lo-fi," but that term doesn't define everything they do. If you want to sample one of their songs, I guess I'd start with "Deceptacon."
