Headed back to Aruba
The wife and I are taking a week of vacation in Aruba. We went there in 2004 and 2007 when she had software installations at the Valero Refinery but this time it's for fun. And the Valero refinery is in transition from having been mothballed to being turned over to Citgo; Venezuala really needs a place close by to refine and since the closure of the refinery in Curaçao. Hopefully she will get to go back for work in a year or so!
Trying to figure out what I'm taking. I decided against my new Phantom Drone even though I have a really nice travel backpack for it. The trade winds can blow strong and it worries me as I still feel a bit of a learner at flying it. But I am taking a bunch of other gear including my GoPro for underwater images. |

After a bunch of hardware issues on my desktop and some much needed upgrades I am now editing my Aruba images. These are some of my final picks. Aruba typically gets great sunsets so I was usually out shooting then and after we would get some dinner.
1. the main harbor area in Oranjestad as seen from our hotel window 2. sunset cruises are popular 3. My setup at the beach each night, this is my new Tamron 150-600mm lens on the Canon 7D MkII 4. Fishing boat heads home |
