Re-Partitioning
XP. I'm out of space on my C partition. Any tips on fixing? I have partition master and think g-part some where.

Are your 6 partitions formated and setup as disk drives D:, E:, F:, etc? Or is any partition unformated and available for data storage?
You can use sophisticated partitioning software to enlarge a partition. But my experience is that sometimes it causes data loss. IOW I would never do that without backing up the data elsewhere. Use Windows help to locate and execute Disk Manager. To provide a better description of what you have BEFORE discussing what can be changed. |

I don't think I've ever seen a partition scheme that fine-grained.

Man you oughta get a job as a storage administrator. Just go to some EMC classes.
As for your home set-up; I know you're on a limited budget, but goddamn man hard drives are cheap again. Ain't been a tsunami in some time. ƒuck it man, I'll mail you some hard drives. Private message me your address, I think I have some Western Digital 80gb SATAs sitting around. If you ain't got no SATA ports, I think I have a few 75gb USB externals gathering dust. You just need more space, plain and simple, old brother man.

Flint, tnxs. I have 2 other sata drives. 1 I partitioned for a win 7 mach, not used. And you can bet the C: partition is way big this time. Other is for backups. Just not sure what program to use to move my OS to new drive?

only 300 mb free on the OS drive is *begging* for trouble from windows. begging.
You might consider moving your swapfile to another location, a different partition that you have some more space on, say a couple multiples of the max RAM you have in that machine. You'll still need to have more than pocket change like that for free space, but it might let you gain enough room to maneuver on C: Look for setttings-Virtual Memory. There's a tutorial on it somewhere, I don't have one at hand. Not very difficult and not very risky.
