POOL MOTOR AND PUMP needed. Urgent

Dear Dwellars, especially those with mechanical inclinations.....

Our pool is closed, the motor for the pump failed, we are well fucked...

We are too small for commercial off-the-shelf, too large for backyard type things

We need a 7.5HP 3-cycle 200V motor with pump and a diffuser on the front. We don't need a strainer basket, but we'll take it if it's a bundle.

It needs to pump 165 gals/min

thanks

Yes, I have googled, I have emails out.... (The local industry word is no can do at this point in the season -I refuse to believe) So if you have any insider info, I greatly appreciate and yes, I may even drive over there and pick itup.....

This should go to the 7.5HP 3-cycle 200V motors.

thanks. appreciate all the help, really. sorry if i'm a little terse. having more success today.

we found this too, but have yet to ascertain if it's really in stock and how long it will take

https://www.recsupply.com/eSource/ec...sts=0&isBulk=0

We found another at 4,400 which may be in Texas or Virginia.

most of them are actually special order items that take weeks to be built when you finally nail them down, though

zipper, that poolsupplyworld one looks good

http://www.poolsupplyworld.com/pools...SPH2K3-142.htm

but there's no pic and I can't get any detailed specs from the site, which is a little weird. Have you dealt with them? Are they good? it doesn't mentin the strainer basket which we would need because it's a different brand, i think. I've forwarded it to the more technical peeps at the pool....

I'm also concerned that free shipping might take forever. maybe they do a paid expedite? oh I do hate talking to people on the phone.

Brand new Gould pump, 7.5 hp with new SJE Rhombus control panel with float switches. 230 volt- 3 phase. Unit was purchased for a job to dewater constuction site but was never used. It is effulent style, heavy duty submersable pump which means it can handle dirty water, leaves, sticks, frogs, small critters- no problem just keeps on pumping. Original purchase price for this equipment was $4800. Buy it now for $ 2,400. Call 509-949-2802. Thanks for looking.

are you willing to cannibalize an air compressor? I see that motor as a common element of big air compressors...

Just a few links I've found. Good Luck.

Oh, my call to my personal contact, sorry, I was only able to leave a message. When he returns my call, I'll let you know what I learn.

thanks v, but I think it needs to be a motor/pump designed for a pool. I'm also not sure I could persuade the board to buy from a private craigslist seller. but i will keep it in mind if we can't find the whole thing -that's a serious price drop from new.

It just goes to show, though, that the local pump/motor people were just too lazy to bother finding one though, and lying through their teeth when they said there weren't many around.
