What's on the DVD player?
I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has trouble resisting the lure of the DVD shelves. (oo! shiny!) Since i have always been interested in "making of" specials and other behind-the-scenes stuff, the DVD seems tailor-made to slurp cash out of my wallet.
What are the latest additions to your collection? Any lesser-known titles we might have missed but should check out? My latest additions are Star Trek I special edition, The Simpsons season 2, and Schoolhouse Rock. |

i just completed my new jersey collection with mallrats. out of all 5 movies, j&sb strike back is, i think, the worst film, but the directors commentary with the movie is really good.
i really enjoy listening to the commentaries. my favourite movie commentaries are braveheart, clerks and sleepy hollow. what would interest me is to see people do new and interesting things with the technology. everybody has deleted scenes and directors commentary and making-of shows. throw something new and unique on there. maybe a special edition dvd of say, indiana jones last crusade and have an 'indy universe' trivia game suitable for play with several people. board game on a disc. interactivity is good. dvd-rom features might be cool if they actually took advantage of the technology. a link to the distibutors homepage is not a 'feature'. an installable demo of the game of the movie. a comprehensive list of links relating to the films subject matter. wallpapers, icons and cursors, screensavers. im more likely to buy a movie im not especially fond of if the features interest me. i bought a dvd player because of the special features, not the improved image quality. ~james |
