lol Good Morning Brianna! *chuckles*
I am up (thougfht by no means wholly awake !) and whilst my kettle is slowly burbling its way up to a boil, I am rolling something smokable, checking to see what the dwellars have been up to whilst I was sleeping...and gradually ... oh so very gradually ... I am working my way up to fully awake and ready to work. Today I have to really hit the books hard. I need to be clear enough on what I'm doing to start writing my next essay tomorrow. I have some grounding in this area (the factory reform movement of the early 19th c, gender and class analysis) but really only general knowledge. I have about 5 journal articles and a couple of chapters of a book to read, before I move onto some primary sources. *smiles* all good fun. At least this is an area I find interesting ... next week, I have to do another essay on political autobiographies...less interested in that. Kind of regretting taking the Memoirs as Historical Source module lol. It has only two saving graces: the prof is a darling and there's no exam at the end. So....why is Jealous Cat Jealous?

I saw some of your posts on having to do the factory reform movement and I thought, "Oh, the poor dear!" so glad to hear you like it!
You'll have company today as I have to hit the books hard, too. I wonder how much we'll get done between coming here to lament our lack of progress ![]() Jealous Cat is Jealous of the new-ish doggie, Autumn. Autumn came to us about a month ago and is Very Needy, the way Piglet is Needy. Autumn follows me everywhere like a toddler will and wants All my Attention All the Time so Carly the Cat has her nose out of joint as she has been with me forever and never had to share anything with a stupid dog. So, at night, she Me-Yowls very loudly and wakes me up for No Good Reason. It's her way of paying me back for the doggie. When are classes over for summer - ? or are you going to soldier on even then?

I'm up too!
Had a lie-in this morning - didn't wake up til the 'rents left for Tesco. There's a cloudless sky outside, so this is a temporary stopover before I go and get some more freckles. Enjoy your days lasies.

*smiles* my final exam is on (I think) the 22nd. I have another essay due in either just before, or just after that (need to check deadlines board) and then that's my BA done with
![]() I have been accepted provisionally onto the MA programme at my uni. Haven't yet sorted out funding. But this means I will need to do some research work over the Summer. I believe hand in date for my masters thesis is Sept 2010. So, the clock's already ticking lol. I've decided to do something different with my masters thesis to the direction I've taken in my undergrad studies. Same period, and same kinds of historical questions, but much less of a focus on theoretical constructs. This will be grounded in primary source materials. And sources that haven't had much work done with them at that. There aren't many places to go for help lol. I honestly don;t know, how I'll answer the questions I want to ask. I am not yet even sure how to ask them...or which ones need asking. I have a start point (the courts martial records in london) and a few ideas of other places to look (local parish archives, newspaper reportage, like the Hue and Cry, and possibly popular ballads and cartoons.) It's very very loose and vague right now. I don't even know if my main question is answerable *smiles* so...I need to get a head start in London. I have no idea where that will lead. So what's your reading on today? @ Sunday: you sound happy and upbeat m'dear. Isn't is glorious outside? We keep getting spells of overcast and rain, but mostly it's lovely.

I'm playing catch-up to you all, I'm afraid: reading Shakespeare - when I was in high school we didn't read much of him. Didn't read much Dickens, either. Actually, hard to say what we did read. I DO recall Merchant of Venice and Tale of Two Cities, but that's it!
I'm so behind in my schooling because I was too sick to take classes alllll last year. Maybe graduate after fall quarter if I am good and lucky. Sounds like you're all fixed up, Dana! Not much longer and you'll be bona fide! And Sundae - lucky girl, laying out in the sun! Have you read Gaiman's Graveyard Book yet? It's really a fun ride!
