Bigoted Southern Judges and the public who loves them
This case breaks my heart. It's telling that both the seizure and contempt citation were overturned. Here's a picture.

What's the big problem. It is a states rights issue. One judge is following the law, the other common sense. But as we have seen in many states common sense does not trump law.

I disagree with the 'following the law' interpretation. There was nothing in the law that forced his decision, since Georgia has no law on gay adoption. He was making it up from a very skewed interpretation of the 'no gay marriage' law.

I don't agree with his decision but he can rule it and they can appeal it.

It says "unmarried individuals can adopt in Georgia." I see nowhere in the post where BOTH women are attempting to adopt the child, only Elizabeth Hadway. If the judge in Wilkinson County wants to be such a stickler, it seems to me that he should take this fact into consideration.
