I don't eat anywhere with more than three locations worldwide.

Make your own sandwiches. They taste better and are cheaper.

Of those two? Quiznos, hands down. I love me some Black Angus on rosemary parmesan bread with the hot sauce.

When I lived in Jacksonville, Firehouse Subs was da bomb, for a chain-like sub shop.

When I lived in Gainesville, there was a hole-in-the-wall joint called Hogan's Heroes. It was a sub/sandwhich shop and bar all in one. Grill behind part of the bar so you could watch them make your spicy meatball with hot and sweet peppers... some table seating, and a half-assed attempt at a sports bar. I don't know what it was about that place, but they had the best.subs.EVER.

Locally, we have a mom-n-pop place with 2 or 3 locations around town called Russo's. Old man Russo has to be 147 years old by now and that old bastard still gets up at 4:00 a.m. to bake the fresh bread for the subs every day.

Subs ain't hoagies, and what they serve in Quiznos and Subway ain't actually food.

yeah. quiznos is to hoagies as taco bell is to mexican food.

if you dont live around Pretzelvania, you dont get the real deal. even from guys that used to live here and moved into your area and opened authentic philly cheese-steak places. and not every place in pretzelvania makes a good hoagie. you gotta ask the local fat italian guys where to get em.

Pudge's is the best place near Wolf, IMO. Around here, there are a few....Beltempo's is passable for being out here in Morgantown. WEst Chester has several places that get it. Lorenzo's (The Nigerian Hoagie weighs 4 lbs!)

if they get rolls like Cacia's makes......the rest will follow.

I gotta know ... what makes it Nigerian?

More in your neck of the woods, I love the steaks, hoagies, and other food at Rino's in Exton, too. John's Steaks in Frazier rocks muchly as well.

I don't know what makes it Nigerian,...that's just what it's called. It's a turkey and roast beef hoagie.

We used to hang out at Rinos after the mall closed when i was in jr high. My friend Pat worked there thru high school...Occasionally, we used to call 1/2 hour before close, and order some kind of bizarre pizza, and never go get it.....Then pat would bring it home after he got off.

o/` that's fucking teamwork o/'

You guys are making me hungry. No good sammiches here in old Hoodbridge, VA. I seriously have not found ONE SINGLE PLACE that makes a good sandwich (that I'm willing to drive to).

It's a fairly long drive for you for a sandwich, but the Italian Store in Arlington makes an outstanding sub. Their pizza is the best in town too.

In Philly, we are truly blessed to have so many great hoagie joints. It amazes me that Subway and Quizno's survive here.
