Don't mind me, just trolling

Speaking of sexual history, when is the last time a troll got so many of us worked up?

It was at least before my time...

I finally got around to ignoring bmwetc, but it was a learning curve. It seems when I think something is irrational, unfair and/or contradicts my (very) personal experience I just can't let it lie.

Haven't grown up as much as I thought I had
Or should I put a positive spin on that and say I felt like a teenager again

Hard to say. But I don't think he's trolling. And to be honest, I'm not sure why everyone is getting so angry at someone just because they have parochial sexual views. Are you all really that mad?

Speaking for myself, yes I really did get mad (as in angry). Surprised the hell out of me too.

I took him for a troll at first as I haven't heard views like that expressed in real life. Bruce pointed out that wasn't enough to make him a troll, but from then on I just got madder as much due to frustration as his opinions. He generalised, didn't answer questions, didn't accept reasoned responses and wouldn't accept that personal opinion only goes so far here.

Some long time posters here hold views that are anathema to me - I'll still read their posts though. One of the reasons I started posting here was to be part of an intelligent, articulate and diverse community (regardless of how little I have to contribute). I'm glad I learned I can still get riled. I just don't need to take that particular topic any further.

He's working the edges pretty nicely. If he wasn't here, we'd have concluded by now that yes, some folks think sexual history is important. Some think it means nothing and many think its part of a spectrum of behaviors and attitudes to be sorted through to gauge compatability. We would all have learned something interesting about one another.

Unfortunately, as LJ mentioned we have not had a really good troll here in a while.

I agree, don't think he's a troll, just an asshat.

You learned a lot faster than I SG - I just can't seem to let it go and I'm a guy. Ugghh, his archaic mentality just gets to me for some reason. Some people really need a little mind expansion so they can get out of their own way and let a fresh thought or idea in. I think I may be one of 'em sometimes too. Oh well, I tried and I said my peace.

Personally, I almost feel sad for the guy. He's obviously got his head where the sun doesn't shine and is pretty bitter-sounding. What an unpleasant way to live .

I've not been around here long enough to have many Cellar trolls to compare him to, but I've been on message boards for years and he is fairly mild, as trolls go.

What would the cellar be without a good troll every now and again? A troll thread is "trainwreck" compatible, which makes it shamefully entertaining. I am embarassed to admit that I enjoy a good row every once in a while. It's like watching a wrestling match.

I still say the surest sign of someone who isn't getting any is thinking that women *can* be sluts. Actually, I believe that it is wishful thinking...

I've been wanting to post about the stupidity of "hate crime" legislation for a while... perhaps this is a good time.
