February 22, 2007: World record kebab meat skewer
ˇEl trompo más grande del mundo! says the entry on this photo in a gallery of shots of the "largest skewer of kebab meat", according to this WaPo story pointed at by Spluch. The celebration is called "tacoton", apparently for the meat in this state; not et this way, it's cut up into pieces and used for tacos. 24,000 tacos. The first cut. They were sold for apx. $1 apiece, and the money went to a home for abandoned children. |

You just think that of any cylindrical meat. It's actually bomb-shaped.

It's a doner kebab like they have back home, not the kebob thingies on skewers they have here. The nearest thing in the US is Gyros. The meet is shaved off the big kebab, then in the UK we put it in a pita with some salad (lettuce/cabbage, tomato, onion) and lemon juice and/or chili sauce.
Sheesh

Don't you mean "Donner kabob" as in the Donner party? They don't say what kind of meat it is... maybe it's human meat.
