Imagine spending 50 years just on exploring Europe. Imagine works of art that take 400 years to complete. Imagine being willing to take huge business and career risks to pursue a fulfilling vocation, because if it doesn't work out, the clock will never run out on trying again. Imagine living 600 years together with someone you love. Imagine great-great-great-great-great grandchildren.

It's really not bad. You get used to it. For the record, though, yes people are even assholier than they used to be.
In the future, asshats are made of nerf.

Oh I have a very active imagination smoothmoniker. I just don't get the whole "wanting to live forever" thing. Death is a part of a life. It is the natural cycle. Everything dies, and for human beings to try to change that, I think it makes us LESS human and more artificial. IMO it is all about ego, and fear.
Where would we put all the people if no one died, and people keep procreating? One or the other has to give. |

Think of the alternative - picking an arbitrary date and deciding to die on it? For no reason other than "that's what people do"?

That's why we should be investing more money in space ships.
We need to find another planet.

Spaceships aren't gonna cut it. We need to start working on the wormholes.
