Adding machine woes
OK, I'm a freaky deaky manual reader. I read instructions before doing almost anything! Yet, this damn adding machine has me perplexed.
So, you accountant types: When entering a series of number on an adding machine (In this case Casio HR-150TE) can't you push some button at the end of the series that reports how many items were in that series? It seems so simple, why can't I figure it out? Any ideas? And yes, you can tell me I'm a dimwit, I know. ![]()

Hmmmm, hadn't thought of that. Thanks! I can print that out and attach it to my paperwork, rather than a rolled up adding machine tape.
What the hell did I buy this machine for? You rock!

helpful formulas for ya: =sum(a1:a100) gives a total of numerical value entered in column a =count(a1:a100) returns a count of numerical entries (disregarding amount of each) in column a.

Never used count. I use sum a lot. I do a lot of work with spreadsheets, v-lookups etc when reconciling federal funding, but it never occurred to me to use it as an adder. Not a snake.
Thanks, will try the count function.

Review your manual again. Look for the Item Counter function.
