Manic Street Preachers Roses in the Hospital I chose this version over the others because it's the album version. In the chart version (i.e. the video) they replaced "We don't want your fucking love" with a repeat of "Roses in the hospital". Still sounds good - but for me it was the former line that blew me away. I was 18? 19? and I did want love - from anyone, anywhere - I craved acceptance and was desperate to find my peer group. To hear that line sung so aggressively in a song about mental illness/ self harm was a revelation. Lyrics underneath if you're interested - the intonation can be confusing.
