Kevin Federline ...

... is, apparently, an incredibly articulate poet, philospher, and art lover. Who knew!!?

Ok, I'll admit to having a chuckle when I looked at the blog, but anyone who links to Lawrence Lessig gets points in my book.

Which reminds me, it's time to dust off my ICANN membership and see what they've been up to.

Wow. It looks like someone broke out their dictionary/ thesaurus.

On a side note, this reminds me - a few years back, there was some songwriting contest that was being held through the schools here (I'm assuming it was national). Anyway, long story short, my daughter who was in 5th grade at the time was one of the top winners, and got to have a phone conversation with Britney Spears.
The reason my details are so vague is because I didn't even know about the contest, I didn't know about her winning, and I certainly didn't know abou the Britney conversation. I heard about it from her teacher. Britney called my daughter at school.
I asked my daughter "You talked to Britney Spears!?"
daughter: yeah
me: what did you talk about?
daughter: not much.
me: did she ask you anything?
daughter: she wanted to know what it was like to live in Alaska.
me: what did you say?
daughter: it sucks.
me: oh - so what else?
daughter: she wanted to know if I had any brothers or sisters. I told her I had a brother and a sister.
me: what did she say?
daughter: she wanted to know if I got along with them. I told her my sister sucks.
me: oh. So why didn't you tell me about this whole thing?
daughter: Mom... it's Britney Spears. She sucks! It's not like it was someone good.

My daughter is now in 10th grade, and she still gets a laugh out of this.

...and a little child shall lead them. She sounds like a cool kid. Ask her it she'll let you post the song.

BTW, all kidding aside, Britney Spears does have talent, is giving people what they want, and seems to have kept from being taken advantage of by everyone who seems to take advantage of child performers, so I will give her some credit as a role model.

Isn't this the standard answer for kids no matter where they live?

Awesome! You know what I can do with this link? I'm going to send it to my brother, who talks just like this all damn day, except he's also the kind of indie-music snob who very well might slash his own wrists if he found out he was sagely nodding his head and approving of Kevin Federline's blog.

See, but what I want to know is, was this written by someone like my brother, who thinks this drivel is really intelligent and that's why it's funny that Federline might be writing it? Because that would depress the shit out of me.

People really talk this way? Ooooo. Not if I had my slingshot handy, they wouldn't.
