The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education is pleased to announce the following teleconference opportunity:
Title: Advanced Verbal Behavior Principles and Approaches for Developing Language in Children with Autism When: Friday, December 9, 2005 Location: Various Downlink Sites across Pennsylvania Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Description: The purpose of this workshop is to describe and demonstrate methods of teaching advanced requesting and conversational skills for children with autism and other language disorders. The information is based on the literature of principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and the analysis of Verbal Behavior combined with procedures developed within the field of speech-language pathology. The methods and materials are also based on the work of Drs. Sundberg and Partington as well as Dr. Vincent Carbone. This workshop content is independent on its own for new participants and it also serves as a follow-up to the March 2005 conference on the basics of verbal behavior.
