Happy Mother's Day

My wife is a great mom. She's a better mom than my mom. That's hard to say, but it's true. My mom was/is a great mom, too, but my wife is much more thorough. No doubt, thanks to the availability of information today as compared to the 70's and 80's.

When we were in our pre-kid years, I could not even conceive of having them, and honestly did not see my wife as being an instictively maternal person. It's really pretty cool how the change from woman to mother is so complete. Not only does her body change and adjust, but her very thought processes changed. I imagine that each new piece of information she gets is run through the "effect on the kids and family" subconscious algorithm first, and then on to the appropriate part of her brain.
She spent months researching everything from breastfeeding to vaccines, to nutrition, and on and on..... My kids are proof that she's doing it right, too. They're good, happy kids, and the boy in particular has a super strong personality. He'll be Spiderman one day, I can tell.

So, I just wanted to take a moment to say that I admire her, and that I am proud of her natural ease with the kids. It makes it seem like she's been someone's mom her whole life.

and somehow, she's still wicked sexy to me.

And a tip o' the hat to Katkeeper.
She is the mother of the Cellar, after all.
