Sycamore on the radio...

...sorta.

I remember how cool it was whenever I would actually hear myself on the radio. You know...you call, they happen to put you on the air, you feel all important and shit, blah blah blah.

That last happened when I was like 14 or so, but today apparently was my lucky day...no one got to hear my voice, but at least my e-mail was read.

Setup: I'm listening to The Kojo Nnamdi Show on WAMU-FM in Washington today. The discussion: "Just when did DC change from a 'sleepy southern town' to the booming cosmopolitan metropolis we know today?" (From WAMU and the Washington City Paper). One of the panelists talks about how polite and friendly people are in the city. I sent Kojo an e-mail telling him I thought otherwise. My e-mail gets read on the air. The panelists then rib on the City of Philadelphia, the sports fans, and the Eagles. A good time was had by all.

Listen for yourself:

--Click on the link above.
--If you do it this week, go down to the 1:00 hour for Monday: "DC's Evolution", and click on the Listen link (Real Audio required)
--If you go there after this week, go to the "2003 Archives" link. Then find "DC's Evolution" under 03.08.25 and click on it.
--Skip past the "first track" (the whole "please support WAMU" spiel)
--Fast forward up to 42:20. It runs to about 43:55.
