Check out this clip of a car trying to pull a trailer up a hill. They almost get to the top when the car finally gives out.

Wish I had pix of the time my then-landlord blew the clutch on his Nissan hatchback hauling an 800-pound trailer from Portland, Oregon to Clinton, BC...on the way back. Near the Starbird Road exit off I-5 north of Marysville. Dood, just because the owner's manual says the car CAN haul doesn't mean you SHOULD strap that much weight to it and put 10,000 miles per summer on it! Lucky for them he had AAA, but they only towed the car. 2 of our group had to sleep next to the trailer--and got woke up twice by attempted theft. I was the lucky brat who called my then-husband and went the hell home.
