Name Changed

I changed it to Trilby.

Both a nice hat (look it up, lazy) and the name of the woman Svenghali hypnotized into his evil power.

As I 'splained in another thread, I feel I've outgrown Brianna AND a lot of the time I feel that I am at the mercy of an Evil Twin me (a Svenghali me, if you will) that overwhelms me with Bad Choices and Encourages me to do Bad Things.

I will happily answer to Tril or Trillion (which was my second pic) as I loved Trillion in Hitchhikers. I thought it was such a cool name.

I will not answer to SlutPuppy or Whoremonger anymore as I've given up those professions for good this time. I mean it. No more. Never again.

You've got me thinking now about cultures where youth are given a new name at their coming-of-age. I think it's appropriate. It would be nice if we could do that in real life, too. (But really I probably only say this because I still wish I could escape from my parents' name choice for me. ) I think if I ever do change my username though, I'll re-register with a new account, rather than changing my current one on all my old posts. If I'm going for emancipation, I'm going for a scorched-earth baggage cutting.

Which is all just rambling. I like your new name, Tril.

Trilby sounds like it would be a great name for a tribble. I hope you haven't become a tribble; 'cause, you know the trouble with tribbles. Let's also hope that no one will abbreviate Trilby as TB.

but would they be given the name or choose it?

yesterday Hector and I were discussing Jupiter as a cool name and he said "I wish I was called Jupiter" I said "go for it" and he was all "no.... you can't really change your name after like 3rd grade...."

Sure you can! Just think of all the people who get horrible nicknames in high school and such... the trick is finding a group of friends willing to call you whatever you choose to be called when you want to change your own name.

That's fine. I'll even answer to that.

I just wanted to be like the cool kids who changed their names. I'm such a follower...and non-baker.

Now I'm feeling really low about myself...maybe I'll just go eat a stick of butter.

What? I did it yesterday.
