Kyrgyz food

I'm feeling very guilty as I haven't taken nearly as many photos of the food as Sundae would have. My excuse is that I don't want to embarrass my hosts at table by having them think that I am showing the world that there is food here. But each night so far I've eaten supper in my room. Here is tonight's, Chinese meat dumplings with soja-ginger sauce, fern and bamboo salad. The "salad" (more like cooked vegetables) is under the bowl of sauce, and was dressed with a hot (spicy) dressing.
The writing is done in sauce, and I know my good friends in teh Cellar will tell me whether it is wishing me wealth, health and happiness, or merely says "Sad old lady eats alone in her room every night". I think the character top right means person, anyway ...
It cost $8, by the way, and was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were a good 3 inches long at least ...

Limey, don't worry - NOBODY takes as many food pics as me; it's bordering on obsession on my part. You'll be pleased to hear I drew the line at taking a photo of my jacket potato & baked beans tonight.

Your meal was well worth a picture though, it looks wonderful for both the eyes and the tastebuds. I like the sound of the spicy dressing too.

I've been looking up translations on the internet.
Your're right about person.
The one directly opposite it is the pictogram for Ring. As in the movie. You can see the tv set and the stylised image of the girl getting ready to crawl out of it.
To the left is Open Window - no dount a suggestion of how you should escape.
And to the right it shows someone putting a DVD into the DVD player.

Just be careful, okay?
