60 minutes is going to be mcveigh-tv on sunday as the whole show is devoted to him, an interview they did two years ago, with outtakes, as wednesday gets closer. its a shame they couldn't do another interview with him as he seems to have gotten more lucid during his prison stay and some of his thinking is fascinating.
ashcroft himself prevented a second 60 minutes interview. they don't want him to be a martyr for his cause but by killing him they're providing all the means. what is the message here. it's the most excusable execution in a long time. but the us taught this guy to kill, and the lesson we're teaching is that by killing him we are solving problems. i'm not sure how i feel about it all but my gut feeling is that we are going to create more mcveighs by killing this one. |

We already have more McVeighs. The execution will only galvanize them all. Expect to see an act on their behalf in memorium of their fallen comrade within a year of the execution.
