A quick poll question:

Would you give every possession you currently own - every penny of money and every item you're surrounded by, save perhaps one set of underwear, to fly along on a space mission?

I await your answers.

For me, no. Space is wonderful and all, but I'm simply not interested in going up there for that kind of cost.

If technology were more advanced, so that I could go further out than the moon's orbit, I would consider it. As it stands, that's too much to give up.

Everything except my underwear, toothbrush, and a set of backup tapes for my computer. And I'd give up the first two in pinch.

Cool

I can see Bill Gates doing the math at home. "Let's see, $20 million, that's about 3 days worth of interest". If Bill doesn't go in the next 2 years, someone had to talk him out of it. Heck, I'm over 40 years old and would still have to explain it to my mother if I bought a motorcyle.
