Login Screen
I researched how to change one's log in screen. I want it to be as easy as changing one's wallpaper. Anything harder and I will mess up my compooper.
Is there a program to change it easily? Why isn't that function built in? grr. ![]() |

First things first; what the heck are you even talking about? With that information, I believe we can move forward to step one.

Here this link might help. It's an example of something like what I want. Well I just want something other than the boring blue screen. We have two different people on this computer. We each have our own desktop ect. There is a login screen or welcome screen. I want to change the image. thanks in advance ![]() |

There's no link. Or image. I think you're talking about your Windows login screen?

Is that a Windows login screen? Huh, I haven't seen that before. It's pretty cool.
(To see the pic, I had to right click for the properties and go to the URL directly. Apparently they don't want hotlinking.)

yeah I saw those but I didn't like my options. I do not want to mess with my registry like that. I guess I will try the login loader but I thought there was a simple way I didn't know about besides downloading an application that could screw up my registry as well as I could.

You'll have to have administrator privileges to modify the registry, but it's not really all that hard.
However, try this and see if this does what you need: Instead of logging out, lock the machine instead - press WindowsKey + L. When I do that, it uses my windows background behind the login window. I've never tried it on a multi-user machine, though.

If one user locks it, they are still logged in and must unlock it with their password and log out (or choose "switch user") before the other person can log in. But we just leave ours logged in all the time, and only switch off when the other person sits down to use it.

Thanks for all the help.
I downloaded 'login studio' which worked like a charm. I am not computer savy so this was safest I thought. http://www.stardock.com/products/logonstudio/ |
