I am a HUGE BOSTON fan, but I gotta say this is a disapointment. Inspired by the CD exchange, I purchased my first CD in like 2 years.
If this was someone new or another band I'd never heard I'd be very pleased, but Damn man, this is BOSTON! I figured it was a given that it would rock but it's pretty mellow. Only a few tracks even sound like them. The best thing about Third Stage & Walk On was that the sound didn't change at all, pure old time BOSTON. They even have a chick in the band for the first time in history. That must be it then, I'm blaming the chick. All in all an excellent album but not what I expected.

Meanwhile, I am surprised at your surprise. As far as I can tell, every Boston album after the first one.... sounded like the first one.
[edit] BTW, I love the first one. Have it on vinyl and bits both. |

I've listened to it several times now, and it is great! But there's pretty good great, and oh my god I'm having an irregular heartbeat great. There are 3 tracks on the album I could send anyone, and BOSTON would be furthest from their mind in a guessing game. And these 3 are excellent. A couple more are BOSTONish, and the rest are sort of watered down BOSTON. It really sucks that I'll have to wait on average another 4 years for a new one.

Sounds to me like Boston kind-of did what YES did after the reformation.
After that, YES was more like 'YEAH' instead of YES.... |
