You can't teach yourself Kung Fu. You have to learn Kung Fu from a Master or Grand Master. Look for a school in your area. If you can't find one, study a different martial art and focus on developing the core skills - they will carry over when you eventually do get a chance to study KF.
Most of what you will find on the internet about Kung Fu its its history, existing schools and a lot of stuff for sale. Please do not buy a "Learn Kung Fu in Six Weeks" DVD.

Is Kung Fu and Kong Fu the same thing, Beestie? Tomato/Tahmahto?
Hi TiTi, welcome to the Cellar.

The direct translation of the Chinese word for Kung Fu is Gong Fu. A middle ground version of that is Kong Fu. The fully Western pronunciation is Kung Fu.
And, I am remiss for not welcoming TiTi to the Cellar as well.

TiTi, what is it you're looking for? Basic info or specific information about a particular discipline?
I am the resident kung fu sifu and may be able to help you out.

Unfortunately, TiTi struck himself in the head while practicing Iron Palm (which he was learning on the internet). He spent the next three days walking around in a small clockwise circle saying, "Kong!"
On the fourth day he was punched in the belly by J. Gordon Whitehead, and he died. This thread brought to you by the SDRTP. |

Learning a martial art on the internet from an ebook is like learning to paint like Picaso reading an art book.
Good advice has already been given, find a teacher who breathes.

At least TiTi figured out how to make a thread, and didn't post this to the "contact us" link.

Which is not too bad for posting in your second or third language.
Why anyone would be asking for that here, though...
