Psychopaths and Major Sporting Events

So, who else saw the lunatic for Jesus disrupt the marathon, quite possibly costing the leader at the time, a Mr. Lima of Brazil, the gold medal?

Anybody else have the first thought of "What if the crazy fuck had been carrying explosives instead of a sign"?

What do you *do* with a crazy bastard like that? It seems he pulled a similar stunt at a British Grand Prix, running out onto the track in the middle of the race, dressed in a kilt, waving a sign with looney stuff written on it.

IMHO, Mr. Lima should *sue* the fucker for every penny he'll ever make from here on out. After all, it is hard to argue that a gold medal in the marathon would have made him a much wealthier person in the years following the Olympics. Maybe if the nutbag is sued into poverty, he'll be unable to afford to travel to events and disrupt them.

Too bad he didn't try to disrupt something more dangerous, say, archery...

Or shooting.

You can't sue someone into poverty who is already there. With the notable exception of John DuPont, most rich people don't do crazy shit like this.

Yeah I had to do jury duty in Delaware County right when his trial was coming up.... I was afraid I'd get stuck on that jury!!

I would love a trial like that, but most lawyers don't want people with a proven record of thinking (and a handful of jury nullification brochures).

I expect that someday I will be called again for jury duty in Norristown. I've imagined the amusing possibilties of going into the court room for voie dire and knowing the judge, the cops, the defendent and the defendent's expert witness for the insanity defense ...

My hospital missed out on having John DuPont as a guest by about >< that much. We contract with Delaware County Prison to take their mentally ill prisoners.

The ones I have gotten haven't been as interesting as Johnny, though. He was in the Regional Forensic Unit, which is the building next door to mine.

"No, Mr. Reporter. You're at the wrong place. You passed the building on your way in except that the front faces the field not the road. Take the second right and you should see the media circus when you come around the corner."

Well I'd like the trial itself, I'm sure, I'm just not up for the whole "missing several weeks of work" thing. But yeah, I'd probably not make the cut after they found out I have a tendency to not have black & white opinions.

Folks like this guy are major attention whores, and so seek out events where as many people will be watching at once. So maybe we can borrow the Speech Zone idea. What they need to do is set up a large booth with several cameras and vans, indicating live feed, and advertise for such nuts and 'imbalanced' people to get their message across there. Of course, the cameras are either dummies or they go straight to tape without being on the air at all. Such a tape can be sold later for entertainment purposes.

I'm quite sure the whacko didn't have any money, but he managed to cobble together his fare to Athens, after all. He needs to be deprived of that amount of cash as well.

Apparently, he was given a hand slap and released on account of being a nut. Go figure.

The Whacko probably got his ticket using a credit card he doesn't intend to pay off. If he were smart he would have gone with one of the cards that lets you build frequent flyer miles.

I'm thinking that some major psychological health-care entity needs to get their own brand of credit card going, here. :p
