Wimbeldon

God I hate the noise Maria Sharapova makes when she hits the ball.

It's even worse than the grunts from Serina Williams!

Earlier, I happened to turn it on. As soon as I heard grunting, I asked April, "Who is that? Venus?" Sure enough, it was.

Monica Seles used to have the best/worst grunt of the women...sounded like she was seriously getting it on. Gustavo Kuerten used to have the best/worst grunt of the men...he sounded like a retard.

here is probably the best example of grunting in a tennis match.
It sounds like Monica says "Fu<k me" everytime she hits the ball.
Venus makes a lot of noise in this one as well.

Serena is sick (she's very good).

To beat that girl after cramping up, holy crap.

Excellent final today. Federer is class. Jamie Murray won the mixed doubles with Jelena Jankovic as well. 20 years since we've had a Wimbledon champion of any description.

Busy UK weekend - on top of the Wimbledon final, we also had to make time to catch the British Grand Prix (Hamilton made 3rd behind team-mate Alonso in2nd), and the Tour de France Prologue in London on Saturday (won by Swiss cyclist Cancellara) and first stage from London to Canterbury (won by Australian McEwen) on Sunday - all this, and then the added diversion of the Live Earth concert . Nothing on next week though....

Where in the name of all that is holy did McEwan come from?
I have puncture marks on my legs thanks to him - all of a sudden, after the commentators had been speculating on whether he was even going to catch the pelaton, there he is breaking away from the front. I shouted, "Fucking HELL!" at the TV and scared the life out of my cat, hence the puncture wounds.

It was a wonderful end to the stage.
